LAHORE, June 1 The People's Lawyers Forum (PLF) has appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to take a suo motu notice of Attorney-General Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa's ejection from a function hosted in his honour on Saturday.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, M Ilyas Khan, PLF central secretary-general, said the perpetrators must be held to account for the sake of the judiciary and the nation's repute after the AG, a representative of the state, was forced to leave in the presence of members of the superior judiciary including the CJP and Lahore High Court Chief Justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif.

He said conspirators behind the plot also wanted to create a conflict among state organs but this was defused by PLF members as they did not react violently.

He said the attorney-general is the chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council, and was not an uninvited guest at the function but was pushed to be there by the Punjab Bar Council.

Asked which parties the PLF blamed, Khan said members of the PML-N, the PTI and the JI were responsible.
