GILGIT, May 19 A dust storm followed by light rain hit Gilgit city and its surrounding areas on Tuesday evening uprooting many trees, and cutting off electric wires disrupting power supply to some areas, officials say.

However, there was no report of human loss from any part. People downed shutters of their shops as storm intensified.

Due to fog vehicles had to turn the lights on to avoid any mishap. Heavy rain also lashed Hunza and other parts.—Correspondent
