KARACHI, July 4: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro on Thursday assigned the portfolios to five new ministers inducted in the Cabinet on Wednesday.

The ministers and the port folios allotted to them are:

Sardar Muqeem Khan Khoso (agriculture, livestock and fisheries); Syed Aijaz Ali Shah Shirazi (irrigation and power and additional charge of communication and works); Mian Abdul Baqi (Auqaf); Khan Mohammed Dahri (education); Arbab Ghulam Rahim (local government, PHE and rural development).

After the exist of Anita Ghulam Ali and Syed Ali Mir Shah, the remaining six ministers have been left with the following portfolios:

Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh (finance, planning and development); Maj-Gen Ahsan Ahmed (health and population welfare); Dewan Mohammed Yousuf Farooqui (industries, labour and transport (additional charge of housing and town-planning and kachchi abadis); Hasan Ali Chaniho (forest, wildlife and environment and food and cooperation); Mohammed Wali Razi (religious affairs, Zakat and Ushr and minority affairs); Abdul Qadir Halipoto (law and human rights).—APP
