KARACHI, July 1: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro on Monday asked the youths to devote their energies for acquiring expertise in the Information Technology to meet the future challenges.

“You all must remember that the knowledge which we are acquiring from books has a ceiling, but in IT sector sky is the limit,” he said while speaking at the inauguration of a five-day “Young Leaders’ Conference” organized by the KCR Associates here on Monday.

Participants from all over the country would be exposed to a diverse national gathering where topics of national and international interests would be analyzed, debated and constructive solutions would be presented.

Mr Soomro said the government was making all-out efforts for spread of education at all levels aimed at heralding positive, rational, constructive and result-oriented changes in every walk of life to ensure solidarity and stability of the nation.

He said Sindh is the only province where education at primary level has been made compulsory and free education up to the secondary level was offered in all government schools, besides giving scholarships/ stipends to girls students from 6th to 8th classes.

The governor called upon the students that their main responsibility should be to be fair to their parents and to the country. “Devote your energies solely on studies as it is the only option available to equip yourself for the struggle in life that lies ahead of you.”

“There is no doubt that the future of our nation greatly depends on the type of education we give to our children and the way in which we bring them up as future citizens of Pakistan.” The duties required of all of you are now to develop a sound sense of discipline, character, initiative and a solid background,” he remarked.

Referring to holding of the event, he said it would create awareness among the participants about their leadership potentials and their role as young leaders of tomorrow.

He claimed that the government had been pursuing investors-friendly policies to help boost job prospects for a large number of unemployed youths.

Sindh education minister Anita Ghulam Ali and former IBA director Dr Abdul Wahab also spoke.—PPI
