OKARA, June 28: This was the second day of dialogue on Friday between the representatives of Anjuman-i-Muzareen and the district administration.

Tenants’ representatives Talib Lumberdar, Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain and Chaudhry Abdul Jabbar demanded the ownership rights of the houses in villages 3/4-L, 8/4-L and 12/4-L.

Terming their demand genuine, the district administration assured them that their demand would be met after consultation with the Punjab government.

Some 15,000 acres of land in Okara military farms and 5,500 acres of lands in Renala estates are cultivated by thousands of tenants.

The married woman, Hanifan Bibi alias Gunno, eloped with her lover Hassan. Jaffar suspected that Mehran Bibi backed his wife in elopement. On Thursday, Jaffar, Ghulam Rasool, Muhammad Jaffar, Muhammad Hussain and Hanif came to the house of Mehran Bibi when she was asleep with her family members including her son Ghulam Nabi. The intruders opened fire on Mehran Bibi, killing her on the spot.

Hujra Shah Muqeem police have registered a case.

COMMITS SUICIDE: A youth, Majid Hassan (18), committed suicide on Friday by taking poison due to some domestic issue in Green Town.

B-Division police are going into the matter.

CRUSHED: An unidentified youth was crushed to death by Shams Tabraiz express near the General Bus Stand here on Friday.

As was now it could not be known whether it was an accident or a suicide.
