LARKANA, March 8 The law department is vetting a summary calling for restoration of the post of attendant officers in education department to ensure that children of school-going age are enrolled.

This was stated by Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro at a ceremony held to launch a helpline for women in distress here on Sunday.

He said that the Sindh education department had moved the summary to the law department and expressed the hope that it would be approved soon.

Male and female attendant officers would be posted in each sub-division with the task of motivating parents to send their children to school and those who failed to do so would face legal actions in the light of the recommendations of the officers, he said. It would help in reopening dysfunctional schools, he added.
