LAHORE, June 25: A four-member Pakistan wrestling team, comprising three real brothers, was named here Tuesday for taking part in the next month’s Commonwealth Games in Machester. “Usman, Umar and Ali are the brothers”, said Chaudhary Muhammad Arif, secretary, PWF while talking to APP.

He said Pakistan Sports Board allocated three seats to PWF and the fourth wrestler, Usman, was jointly funded by Pakistan Olympic Association and PWF.

“ Usman is a promising grappler and his trip has been arranged to impart him high profile experience and to field a four-member team in the Games “,he said.

He said two stand-by are Robin Masih (65kgs) and Papu (66kgs). Sohail Rashid, a national coach, will accompany the team as coach-cum-manager.

Arif said the team was chosen from the two-day trials held here last month and were participated by over 20 wrestlers including camp trainees and was the unanimous choice of the selectors.

PWF Official said the final selection was made after a thorough consideration.—APP
