MINGORA, Feb 26 As the security forces on Thursday stopped checking of vehicles at key checkpoints, Tehrik Nifaz-i-Shariat-i-Muhammadi chief Maulana Sufi Mohammad announced that from now onward cases in police stations and trials in courts would be conducted under Islamic Sharia.

Talking to journalists here Maulana Sufi Mohammad said that all the decisions taken under the laws in conflict with Sharia would be considered null and void.

“In Malakand division Nizam-i-Adl has been enforced and all the laws in conflict with Sharia have already been declared void, therefore, FIRs in police stations shall be registered under the Sharia,” Maulana Sufi Mohammad said adding that the court would also decide cases in accordance with Islamic Sharia.

He said that for restoration of durable peace in swat they had been constantly in touch with the government and Taliban. He said that they requested both the sides to show some flexibility in their stances so that peace could return to the conflict-hit valley.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the security forces deputed at some of the important checkpoints especially at Khwazakhela, Matta and Fizzagut, have stopped checking of vehicles passing through these areas.

Although, security forces have been manning these checkposts, yet they are not seen searching any vehicle.

A delegation of the TNSM also called on Malakand Commissioner Syed Mohammad Javed and discussed different issues related to restoration of peace with him.

TNSM spokesperson Amir Izzat Khan told journalists that their delegation was led by their naib amir Maulana Mohammad Alam. He said that the delegation demanded reopening of Mula Baba and Ingaroo Dehri Roads. He added that they also discussed in detail the issue of enforcement of Nizam-i-Adl.
