ISLAMABAD, June 24: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) on Monday suspended power supply to National Institute of Science and Technology (Nust) and all offices of Pakistan Public Works Department (PPWD) for not paying outstanding dues amounting to Rs28 million.

Talking to Dawn, the Iesco’s chief executive, Brig Waseem Zafar, said Nust had become a defaulter of Rs2.5 million while the PPWD had to pay Rs25 million dues.

He said power supply to both Nust and PPWD had been cut under an ongoing drive and it would remain suspended until they pay their outstanding dues to the company.

He said the company would disconnect electricity of all Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) offices on Tuesday as the TMA was a defaulter of Rs20 million.
