SANGHAR, Feb 12 Residents of Allahdad Rajar village have condemned a move to demolish their village for remodelling of Nara Canal.

Talking to Dawn, Sahib Rajar, Jumo Solangi and others said that they were residing in the village since 1947.

“The village is also shown in the map of the Deh concerned but a contractor without issuing any notice has started demolishing houses in the village to dig a new part of the new canal.”

They alleged that the new part of the canal was being dug to provide water to the land of influential landlords.

The contractor has asked them to vacate their houses in 24 hours, threatening them to bulldoze their houses.

They said that they were so poor that they could not construct new houses.
