KOHAT, Jan 19 Militants attacked two FC checkposts in Kohat and Hangu districts on Monday.

Sources said that the militants fired three rockets at Kotal checkpost in Kohat on Monday morning. They said that the attack was retaliated by the security forces with artillery.Officials said that the rockets were fired from the Bosti Khel area and security forces pounded the hideouts of militants there. No casualty or property damage was reported in the exchange of firing.

Similarly, militants attacked Mamokhwara checkpost on the jurisdiction of Doaba police station of Hangu district. The security forces also fired at the militants. After sometime the military also came to the help of FC personnel and opened artillery fire on militants. The trade of fire continued for three hours.

Militants had been trying to take control of the said checkpost which was situated in the no go area. They had enforced Sharia in the region between Hangu city and Thall and wanted the security forces to leave the area.
