FAISALABAD, June 18: The executive committee of the Punjab Bar Council has demanded President Pervez Musharraf to direct the authorities concerned for the implementation of his orders about setting up a high court bench in Faisalabad.

In a statement here on Tuesday, PBC executive committee chairman Malik Amjad Husain and other members said the District Bar Association, Faisalabad, was assured by the president during a referendum meeting that a high court bench would be set up in Faisalabad. But no step has so far been taken in this regard.

They urged the president to take cognizance of the situation and ask the authorities concerned for setting up the bench.

Meanwhile, Toba Tek Singh district Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq has said a resolution would be adopted by the district council demanding setting up of a bench of the Lahore High Court in Faisalabad.
