MINGORA: Man killed, bank looted

MINGORA, Dec 31 A man was killed here on Wednesday whereas a bank was looted in the Odigram locality of Swat on Tuesday night, police said.

Witnesses said some people opened fire on Gulab Syed, killing him on the spot. The reason behind the murder could not be ascertained, police said. On Tuesday night, some robbers took away two computers and other appliances from the branch of the National Bank in Odigram near the Mingora city.

Meanwhile, a policeman escaped from the captivity of kidnappers and reached the Rahimabad police station in the Barikot subdivision. The policeman, Fazl Anwar, was kidnapped on Monday. —Correspondent
