MULTAN, June 15: The Multan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced the results of the secondary school certificate examinations, 2002, on Saturday.

As many as 73,728 candidates took part in the examinations; of them, 42,458 were declared successful showing a pass percentage of 57.6.

Girls dominated the results in all categories that are overall top positions and top positions in science and general groups.

Tayyaba Mustafa of the Government Girls MC Model High School, Arifwala, Pakpattan district, got the first position with 785 marks, Muhammad Zafarullah Khan of the Government Higher Secondary School, Makhdoomaali, Lodhran district, second with 776 marks and Ayesha Jawed of the Tabinda Model High School for Girls, Burewala, Vehari district, third with 775 marks.

Following is the group-wise position of the candidates participated in the examinations:

Science group (Boys): Muhammad Zafarullah Khan of the Government Higher Secondary School, Makhdoomaali, stood first by getting 776 marks, while Muhammad Zubair Tariq of the Government Comprehensive School, Sahiwal, and Sajjadur Rahman of the Muslim Public High School, People’s Colony, Mumtzabad, Multan, secured second and third positions with 773 and 772 marks, respectively.

Science group (Girls): Tayyaba Mustafa of the Government MC Model High School, Arifwala, got the first position by securing 785 marks, while Ayesha Jawed and Sidra Shahid of the Tabinda Model High School for Girls, Burewala, stood second and third with 775 and 769 marks, respectively.

General group (Boys): Abbas Ali of the Government Islamia High School, Aam Khas Bagh, Multan, stood first by getting 711 marks while Wasim Abbas Shaheen of the Government Higher Secondary School, Qaboola, Pakpattan, and Hafiz Muhammad Tayyab of the Chak 2/EB, Malka Hans, Pakpattan, jointly secured the second position by getting 688 marks each. Muhammad Azhar of the Government Higher Secondary School, Qaboola, and Sajjad Husain of the Government Islamia High School, Aam Khas Bagh, clinched the third position with 676 marks each.

General group (Girls): Samra Bibi of the Government Higher Secondary School, Tulamba, Khanewal district, bagged the first position with 717 marks, while Razia Rafiq of the Government Girls High School, Chak 1/10-L, Sahiwal, and Sahrish Khalil of the Government Girls High School, Mailsi, Vehari district, secured second and third positions with 709 and 705 marks, respectively.
