LAHORE Sialkot Cricket Association (SCA) honoured its victorious Sialkot Stallions and U19 cricket teams at a reception by awarding them cash prizes for their notable performance in domestic tournaments.

SCA President, Naeem Gulzar Chaudary presented a cash award of Rs 500,000 to Stallions captain Shoaib Malik for winning the national Twenty-20 cricket title for the third time in a row while U19 team received a cash prize of Rs 100,000 on Wednesday night for a similar feat at a reception at Lahore Gymkhana club.

Also present on the occasion were former Pakistan captains, Wasim Bari, Wasim Akram, test cricketers, Ijaz Ahmad, Shafiq Papa, Azhar Khan, members of both the teams and officials. Director PCB ,Sultan Rana and other officials of the Board also attended.

Speaking on the occasion ,Stallions captain, Shoaib Malik said it was the result of collective efforts and hard work that his region won the title for third successive time.

All the players did their best besides our team management put in a lot of efforts and I would say it was joint effort to maintain supremacy at Twenty-20 level,  he asserted.

He expressed the hope that his team will be able to demonstrate a better level of game when it plays Champions Teams in India for the Twenty20 Champions League later this month.

We have one collective thought in our mind, to maintain the flow of victories in India, he said.

Shoiab Malik expressed his gratitude to SCA President for his patronage and said due to his keen interest and valuable contribution to reward teams, Sialkot has emerged as the strongest cricket region in the entire country.

Wasim Akram, speaking on the occasion, urged the players to exhibit exemplary discipline on and off the field when the Stallions visit India.

Hard work is the key to success and I would ask the players to show higher level of cricket to make our country proud.

Naeem Gulzar said his region had made rapid progress in cricket and its teams have produced unmatched results in domestic cricket. He attributed the success to the team management, players, and quality leadership.

As President SCA I am doing my best for the betterment of cricket in Sialkot region and I will continue my efforts in future as well.
