KARACHI, June 10: The government is paying special attention to the education and training of Information Technology, Business and Management and Finance, and in this regard, a market-oriented and market requirement programme is being implemented.

This was stated by Sindh Governor, Mohammedmian Soomro, while talking to a delegation of visiting American professors under the America in Karachi programme, who called on him at the Governor’s House.

The delegation comprised Dr Barbara Cole, Dr Jay Berry, Dr John Russell and Mr Tod Rohling.

The governor’s adviser for higher education, Abdul Wahab Shaikh; Director IBA, Mr Danishmand; besides members of IBA’s Board of Directors and faculty were also present.

The governor appreciated the delegation’s visit and their interest in the IBA.

Welcoming the visitors, Mr Soomro observed that contact of international experts and professors will certainly prove result- oriented in the future.

Highlighting the various programmes and training at the IBA, the governor said that the courses have been compiled as per international standards.

Leader of the delegation, Dr Barbara Cole, termed their interaction with IBA teachers and students as very useful.—APP
