KARACHI, May 2: The Pakistan Railway Advisory and Consultancy Services (PRACS), a subsidiary of Pakistan Railways, on Thursday took control of the sale of platform tickets at the Karachi Cantonment Station.

PRACS had won this contract for Rs10 million in an auction held by the Railways.

PRACS has appealed to the people to make it a habit to buy platform tickets before entering the platforms.

It said no section of society, including government officials, defence personnel, taxi drivers and even railway employees, were exempted from platform tickets.

The contract for the sale of platform tickets was handed over to PRACS at a ceremony held at Cantonment Station on Wednesday, when Divisional Superintendent Abdul Wahab Awan gave the agreement documents to Deputy Director of PRACS Major Rub Nawaz.

The uniformed employees of PRACS have started performing duties for the sale and collection of platform tickets at the Cantonment Station.—APP
