MULTAN, April 11: An SHO and three robbers were killed and a DSP and a constable injured in a shootout between police and robbers on Thursday at Sharkwala village near Kehror Pucca, some 80 collimators from here.

Police said the robbers had stopped two post office employees on their way to Kehror Pucca post office and told them to hand over cash. One of them was shot for putting up resistance and the robbers fled on a motorcycle.

In the evening, a police party surrounded a haveli where the robbers were reported to be hiding. The robbers were told to surrender. When they started firing at the police, the fire was returned. Kehror Pucca Saddar SHO Abdullah Qadri and the robbers died in the exchange and DSP Nazar Abbas and constable Fayyaz were taken to the Kehror Pucca RHC in a critical condition.

The robbers had not been identified till the filing of this report.—Nouman
