KARACHI: Housewife shot dead

KARACHI, March 28: A housewife was shot dead allegedly by her brothers in her home in Keamari on Wednesday night.

Police said Malka Khatoon, aged 40, was shot dead allegedly by her brothers, who came to visit her home. The assailants fled after opening fire on the woman. The woman’s husband was out of the house at the time of the killing, police said.

The husband named his wife’s brothers Zahir Shah and Hidayat Shah in the FIR.

Body of a young man was found in the dry bed of Thado Nullah in Sher Mohammed goth, Malir, on Thursday morning. The Malir City police brought the body to the JPMC for post-mortem. Sources said the dead man, who remained unidentified till the filling of this report, had received a single bullet in his chest, which proved fatal. The dead man, who was in his mid-20s, was wearing jeans and shirt.

The two police stations concerned declined to own the body over the question of jurisdiction.

Malir City police station declined to give information, saying the body was found in the limits of Gadap police.
