SIALKOT, Nov 30: Paddy harvesting was badly disrupted for the 15th consecutive day on Friday due to Indian firing in border villages near the Sialkot working boundary.
According to official sources, the Indian security forces continued intensified firing on border villages in Chhumb, Joriyaan, Bajwat, Sucheetgarh, Harpal, Charwa, Bajragarhi and Shakargarh sectors. The shelling also damaged five houses.
When the Chenab Rangers returned the fire, the Indian troops fled towards their back line bunkers, the sources said. No casuality was reported.
Meanwhile, the Rangers thwarted another major Indian attempt of fencing near Chhumb and Joriyaan sectors late on Thursday night.
Firing between the Rangers and Indian forces continued till the filing of this report on Friday evening.
FARM LOANS: The Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan will soon advance loans to the tune of Rs320 million under the one-window operation scheme to wheat growers of Sialkot district.
This was announced by the ADBP regional manager while speaking at a loan cheques distribution ceremony in Kapoorwali village here on Friday.
Earlier, district Nazim Naeem Javaid distributed cheques among 20 growers.

ARMS, LEGS CHOPPED OFF: A woman with the help of two sons chopped off arms and legs of her younger sister in Pasohnu village, Pasrur tehsil, some 47km away from here, on Thursday night.
Bushra Bibi, 35, was sleeping in her house when Parveen and her sons, Faisal and Qaisar, tied her up and chopped off her arms and legs with a chopper. The injured woman was admitted to hospital in critical condition.
