KARACHI, Oct 8: Sindh Governor, Mohammedmian Soomro, has asked Ulema to play their due role under the present circumstances for stability and national unity of Pakistan and propagation of Islamic teachings.

He was talking to a delegation of Ulema belonging to different schools of thought which met him at the Governor’s House on Monday.

He said that the policy pursued by the present government led by General Pervez Musharraf for the welfare of Islam, Pakistan and its people has been praised by all sections of the population.

He requested the Ulema to make special efforts for promoting understanding, patience, tolerance, unity and brotherhood in their areas of influence.

The delegation members included Allama Abbas Kumaili, Shabbir Ahmed, Al-Azhari, Qari Sher Afzal, Muhammed Hussain Mehanti, Siddiq Rathore, Shah Faridul Haq, Qari Allah Dad, Saleemullah Khan, Mufti Zafar Ali Nomani, Prof Munibur Rehman, Qari Abdul Mannan Anwar, Qari Muhammed Iqbal, Dr Qassim, Ehteshamul Huq, Tazeem Siddiqi, Usman Yar Khan and others.—APP
