KARACHI, June 4: Bandits shot dead a shopkeeper in his home in Orangi Town on late Monday night.

Police said Shah Mohammed, aged 65, a shopkeeper, was shot and wounded when he tried to put up resistance to two bandits who barged into his house in Orangi Town’s sector 11 1/2. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died.

The bandits got away with valuables.

IDENTIFIED: The unknown mutilated bodies of a woman and her four-year-old step-son were identified by the woman’s husband in the Edhi’s morgue.

The bodies were found near a government school in Korangi No 4 on late Monday night. The bodies were stuffed into plastic bags.

People residing in the area informed police about the bodies after they noticed a stench coming from the bags.

Quoting the woman’s husband, Fareed, police said the man came to known about the incident through newspapers. He identified the woman as his wife Najma, aged 30, and the boy as his son Ali, aged four.

Police said Fareed was a Qari at Bahar-i-Madina Mosque, Liaquat Market, Malir. He told police that he married Najma over a month back. This was Najma’s third marriage.

He said on Monday morning, when he returned home after morning prayers, he found his wife missing.

Police detained a former husband of Najma’s, her aunt Rabia and Fareed for interrogation.
