SUKKUR, Feb 8: The parliamentary leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal in Senate, Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, and MNA Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman have expressed concern over the Balochistan situation , saying any army operation in the province will intensify the sense of deprivation among people.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, they said a few miscreants were involved in terrorism and the government had subjected the people of the entire province to punishment which was quite unjustified.

They said the matter would be raised in the National Assembly and Senate. They said the government had extended a hand of friendship to its enemies but its actions at hand were converting friends into foe. They said country's integrity and solidarity more important than any dam. They alleged that the government had raised the issues of Kalabagh dam and the Balochistan operation to divert the attention of people from the uniform issue.

They called upon the government to desist from such activities and stop the operation in Balochistan.

They said the JUI wanted to see a real Islamic system in the country for which it was struggling and some resultshad been achieved in the NWFP. They hoped that soon the Islamic system would be introduced in the country.
