LARKANA: PPP foundation day on 30th

LARKANA, Nov 18: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) will celebrate its 38th foundation day here on November 30. The Larkana PPP finalized the arrangements for accommodating about 4,000 participants , said Asghar Shaikh, district information-secretary of the PPP, here on Thursday.

Ayaz Soomro, MPA and district president of the PPP, presided over the meeting, which was attended among others by the MNAs, MPAs, district nazims and naib nazims hailing from Larkana.

Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Nisar Khuhro and Syed Qaim Ali Shah would address the foundation day meeting.

Different sub-committees had been constituted to supervise the programme, Mr Soomro said.

POET'S HEALTH: The poets, writers and intellectuals of Larkana district expressing concern over the deteriorating health condition of Saeed Memon, a leading Sindhi poet, urged the Sindh government and philanthropists to extend financial support to save his life.

In a written statement here on Thursday, the writers - Akhlaque Ansari, Naseem Paras Gaad, Mukhtair Jagirani, Qadeer Shaikh, Dr Kaleem Danish, Munnawar Solangi, Yamin Baloch, Aziz Mangi and Raza Bokhari said that Mr Memon was suffering from severe brain disorder but could not afford to bear the expenses for treatment.

They urged Sindh chief minister and the department of culture to help the renowned poet.

REMAND: The Civil Lines Police on Thursday produced Mashooq Khuhawar, who had allegedly been involved in assaulting a six-year-old girl, in the court of the third judicial magistrate of Larkana.

The magistrate remanded the accused in police custody for three days.
