SIALKOT, Nov 18: Five people, including a couple, were killed in separate road accidents in Sialkot and Narowal districts during the last 30 hours.

Akram and his wife Salma were on their way by a motorcycle (LKA-6961) when a speeding wagon (LHO-6886) hit them on Sialkot-Shakargarh-Noorkot Road near Afzalpura village. The couple died on the spot.

An unknown youth was crushed to death under the wheels of a speeding bus after falling from its roof near Noorkot.

Kashif (18) was killed as his motorcycle was hit by a tractor-trolley at high speed near Fateh Morr, Pasrur tehsil.

A youth, Suhail Anjum, was killed when his motorcycle (LXJ-2049) collided with a wagon (MNK-5354) on Darman-Zafarwal Road. The deceased was performing one-wheeling.

Police have registered separate cases.

ARRESTED: The Motra police on Thursday arrested a drug pusher and recovered 125 grams of hashish from him in Jamkey Cheema village in Daska. Salahuddin was selling the narcotics when police caught him red-handed. Police are going into the matter.

BHU: There has been no electricity in the basic health unit of Variyo-Sialkot tehsil for the last two months. Reports said thieves stole the electricity transformer of the BHU two months ago and since then no transformer had been installed by the Wapda.

Patients and medical staff have been facing a great deal of inconvenience due to unavailability of electricity.
