NOWSHERA, Oct 7: The holding of Loya Jirga is the only way to restore peace in Afghanistan, former federal minister and leader of the ANP, Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, said on Sunday. He said that the entire world is now in favour of a Jirga as there is no elected government or parliament in Afghanistan.

Haji Bilour said that they had to stop war at all costs as in case of any US attack on Afghanistan the ultimate sufferers would be the Pakhtoons on both sides of the Durand Line.

Talking to the newsmen here during the marriage ceremony of barrister Mian Feroz Jamal son of former provincial minister Mian Jamal Shah Kakakhel, Haji Bilour praised the statement of British prime minister, Tony Blair, in which he had accepted the right of Pakhtoons in Afghanistan, saying that now Pakhtoons in Pakistan would also get their due rights.

Haji Bilour said that a religious scholar could know about religious affairs, a military man knows about military affairs, whereas only politicians could know about political issues.
