KARACHI: Four die in accidents

KARACHI, Nov 4: A cleaner of a truck was crushed to death beneath the vehicle he worked at in Shireen Jinnah Colony on Thursday.

Police said that Rana Jawed, 30, was sleeping beneath his truck (LS-4113) at the PSO oil terminal, when the driver, unaware of Rana's presence beneath the truck, ran the truck over him.

The police said that the victim died on the spot. His body was shifted to the JPMC for legal formalities.

A forty-five-year old man was crushed to death beneath a locomotive at Drigh Station on Thursday morning.

Police said that the unidentified victim was apparently crossing over the railway tracks when the accident occurred.

In a late night accident in Baloch Colony, an unknown young man died in a hit-and-run accident.

Police said that the victim in his early 20s was crossing a main road when a speeding vehicle hit him.

Police took him to the JPMC, where he was pronounced dead.

In a similar accident at Nursery PECHS a sixty-year-old motorcyclist died in a hit-and-run accident.

Police said that a resident of Defence View, Syed Muzzafar, was on his motorcycle when he was knocked down by a speeding truck at the Nursery traffic signal at Sharae Faisal. He was taken to the JPMC where he died during treatment.
