NAWABSHAH, Oct 30: A large number of tail-end growers held a demonstration in Qazi Ahmed on Saturday to protest against the SDO and Daroghas of the Dad division of irrigation department for selling water share of Mir Rukun minor.

The protesters said that there was no water in the channel since long as a result hundreds of acres of land irrigated through it had become barren.

They alleged that the SDO irrigation and Daroghas sold water to the influential landlords depriving the small-scale farmers of their due share of water.

They warned that if water was not supplied into the Mir Rukan minor, they would block the National Highway in protest.
