TOBA TEK SINGH, Oct 21: Gojra Saddar police have failed to arrest any of the eight suspects in a triple murder case.

According to reports, Abdul Waheed of Faisalabad had contracted love marriage with Talaat Perveen of Chak 91-JB against the will of her family. Her brother and other members of the family planned to exact revenge and, accordingly, invited the couple to the village the other day.

Waheed, along with his brother-in-law Muhammad Husain, and wife visited his in-laws' where the woman's brothers Ilyas, Asif and Fayyaz, father Jameel and other relatives overpowered the couple and their kin. They allegedly took Waheed and Husain to railway track and tied them with the track as a result of which both were crushed under the wheels of a train coming from Shorkot.

Thereafter, they shot dead the girl and took her body to Faisalabad where they threw it in Madina Town police station jurisdiction near Abdullahpur canal bridge. Police recovered the body on Wednesday.

It is learnt that Illyas is the brain behind the triple murder. He was allegedly a member of a gang that had an encounter with police in 1998 in Rawalpindi police station limits. His cousin Umer Umri (another criminal) and four policemen were killed in the shootout.
