KARACHI, Oct 2: Sindh Minister for Women Development Saeeda Malik has called for provision of health and other facilities to women prisoners.

Presiding over a meeting of the women and jail committee at his office on Saturday, she directed that the women in jails should be thoroughly checked for AIDS and hepatitis B and C.

She called for imparting training to them in sewing, embroidery and other skills so that they could feed their families.

She pointed out that under the jail law, six-year-old children could not live with their mothers and directed the officials concerned to make separate arrangements for them with the help of NGOs.-APP
