SAHIWAL, Sept 4: Police claimed on Saturday to have found a clue to a gang preparing fake driving licenses. They have seized 43 fake licences from the gang, which includes three constables.

Constables Ghaffar Ahmad, Allah Yar and Shahzad, along with their accomplice agents Tariq and Shahbaz, had allegedly been preparing fake licences by using the stamps of Gujrat, Toba Tek Singh and Layyah police for the last one and-a-half year.

The illegal activity came to light when the Islamabad police received a few copies of such licenses and sent those to the Sahiwal DPO for investigation.

The DPO ordered the Civil Lines police to go into the matter after which it conducted a raid and unearthed the illegal activity. The police have arrested only Tariq so far.Meanwhile, the DPO has suspended the three constables from service and registered a case against the gangsters under section 420, 468, 471 PPC.
