SUKKUR, June 27: Eight persons were killed and several others injured in Kandhkot and Thul talukas of Jacobabad district due to roof/wall collapse and tree falling after Saturday's heavy dust storm and rain.

Noor Hussain Chachar was killed and Jamal Din Chachar injured as a wall of their house collapsed in the Jam Sunharo area of Kandhkot taluka.

In Risaldar, Imran Mohammadani and his two children, whose names could not be ascertained, died as the roof of their house collapsed on them.

In Gulsher Muhalla of Kandhkot town, a woman, Shabana Sawand, was killed and two minor children injured as the roof of their house caved in.

Hidayatullah Mirani was killed when a wall of his house collapsed in Mumtaz Muhalla of Kandhkot town.

In the Thul taluka, a house collapsed in Ali Murad Landhi village as a result Jawed Buriro was killed and Sawaro injured.

Nabi Bux was killed when a uprooted tree fell upon him.

Seventeen persons including Shahzado, Ali Murad, Shah More, Abdul Nabi, Habibullah and others were injured when their kutcha houses collapsed.

More than 30 persons were injured in Kandhkot, Tangwani, Risaldar and other areas of Jacobabad district due to the similar reason.

In Bagh Hayat Ali Shah Muhalla of Sukkur, a woman, Amina Begum, was seriously injured when a wall of her house collapsed. She was shifted to the Civil Hospital.

Another house collapsed in Garam Godi area of Sukkur but no loss of life was reported.
