SUKKUR, June 26: Hundreds of trees and hoardings were uprooted when a dust storm, followed by heavy rain, lashed Sukkur, Jacobabad, Thul, Garhi Khairo, Kashmor, Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Lakhi and other parts of interior of Sindh on Saturday evening.

The heavy rain and storm caused power disruption in Sukkur and its adjoining areas.

The dust storm continued till the filing of this report.

In Jacobabad, the heavy dust storm started at 5pm, uprooting trees and hoardings and damaging roofs of kutcha houses.

Reports of power disruption were also received from Jacobabad, Thul, Garhi Khairo, Kashmor, Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Lakhi and other areas.

Low-lying areas were submerged by rainwater.

The rain brought a pleasant change in the weather.

Our Correspondent adds from Dadu: Different parts of Dadu district, including Johi, Sehwan, Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Khudabad, Bhan Saeedabad and Dadu city, received heavy rains on Saturday evening.

The vehicular traffic, power supply and telephone system were badly affected due to rains.
