GUJRANWALA, June 25: An ASI and two constables whose case was discharged by a local court for their involvement in misbehaving an army officer's family, were again booked by the police under another section here on Friday.

ASI Rana Tehsin and constables Muhammad Ayub and Sohail Ahmad were booked and arrested by the Model Town police. DIG Chaudhry Altaf Qamar and DPO Syed Saud Aziz had taken the action against the policemen on the complaint of Gepco chief executive Brig Saifullah Khalid.

Judicial magistrate Shaikh Ghulam Mustafa had discharged the case and ordered the release of the policemen on Thursday. However, the Model Town police registered the case against the policemen under section 156-C instead of 156-A.

Till the filing of this report, the policemen could not be re-arrested.

INQUIRY: District and sessions judge Riazul Hassan ordered a judicial inquiry into the killing of accused Kashif alias Kashi in an encounter with the police here on Friday.

The judge inducted judicial magistrate Taseer Ahmed as inquiry officer and directed him to submit report within a week. Meanwhile, the inquiry officer urged the heirs of slain and citizens to record their statements at his office within the stipulated period.

The heirs alleged that the police had killed Kashif after arresting him. While the police claimed that he was killed during the encounter.
