KASUR, June 19: A convict was got released by his accomplices here on Saturday after the verdict of Pattoki Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Rafiq.
Reports said the judge awarded life imprisonment to Nadeem and acquitted his two co-accused, Naseem and Sardar, in a Hudood case.
However, the acquitted men forcibly took away the convict from the premises of the court by beating a court official. Police failed to catch the fleeing men.
Pattoki police have registered a case against them.
COUPLE KILLED: A couple was killed when a rickshaw they were travelling in overturned at Gharyala Valtoya village in Pattoki.
Police said Muhammad Alamgir and his wife, Mandan Bibi, were going to Pattoki by a rickshaw when it overturned. As a result, Alamgir died on the spot while his wife suffered injuries. She breathed his last on way to the THQ hospital.
