FAISALABAD, June 19: A surplus budget of Rs2,482.259 million for the year 2004-05 of Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) and Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) was approved by the governing body here on Saturday.

The budget session of both the agencies was presided over by city Nazim Mumtaz Ali Cheema.

The meeting was told that Rs100 million would be spent on a residential colony on Sargodha Road and the construction of FDA complex for its offices.

The meeting was told that Rs814 million have been earmarked for other development projects.

WASA would spend Rs1,210 million on different development schemes in the city. The agency had collected a record Rs350 million from its consumers during the previous year.

The meeting also approved the amended budget for the year 2003-04 in the session.

The meeting was attended among others by by Wasa MD Rashid Chaudhry and FDA DG Raja Safdar.
