SANGHAR, June 12: A no-confidence motion was passed by the district council against Nazim Roshan Din Junejo on Saturday. Out of 83 members, 68 attended the meeting. As many as 64 votes were cast against the nazim while three members voted for him. One vote was declared invalid.

A no-trust motion had also been passed against the nazim on May 6.

However, the nazim had approached the Sindh High Court and stated that the district council had adopted the motion while he was on leave and the session had been presided over by the naib nazim who was party against him.

The court had ordered on June 3 for convening a special session of the district council and giving the nazim an opportunity to address the council and to reply to allegations levelled against him.
