KARACHI, June 5: An Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi, headed by Judge Arshad Noor Khan, on Saturday adjourned the hearing in a kidnapping for ransom case against two accused after deposition by two witnesses.

Two brothers, Shahid and Zahid, are being tried on charges of kidnapping Amir Haroon in SITE area for ransom.

The statements of Major (retd) Khalid, an employee of company who traced out the vehicle of the abductee through a satellite device, and a bank manager Irfan were recorded.

A video tape was also produced before the court in which accused Zahid, who visited bank to withdraw the cheque, was shown.

The court after deposition by eyewitnesses fixed June 7 for the next hearing.

The prosecution case was that the accused made Amir, a factory manager, hostage on March 22, and demanded Rs1 million from detainee's family as ransom.

They were arrested red-handed outside a bank near Shaheen Complex where they went to withdraw a cheque for Rs9,80,000 which was obtained from abductee's family.
