KARACHI, April 24: Sindh education minister on Saturday claimed that by year 2010, all children of school-going age would be enrolled at primary institutions in Sindh.

"Efforts are under way to achieve the target of 100 per cent literacy in Sindh and soon we will be able to implement the Compulsory Education Ordinance in letter and in spirit," he said, while speaking to schoolchildren at Quaid-e-Azam's mausoleum after attending a walk by schoolchildren.

Organized by the Education and Literacy Department of City Government, the walk was held on the conclusion of "Education-for-All" week in the province.

He said aims and objectives of holding this walk were to make parents aware of the importance of education and to persuade them for sending their children to schools for getting education. The Sindh government is making allout efforts for persuading parents to send their children to schools, he added.

Large number of students and teachers attended the walk. Similar walks would also be held in all towns of the city.-PPI
