LAHORE, April 10: Wang Xiao He, the Chinese coach under whom Pakistan claimed yet another SAF Games football gold earlier this month, is likely to make an unceremonious exit as PFF showed little interest in retaining him on Saturday.

PFF president Faisal Saleh Hayat said final decision about the coach was yet to be taken after discussion.

Arshad Lodhi, the secretary of the PFF, said Wang would be contacted before a final decision.

Wang had focussed on enhancing the stamina of the probables during the SAF Games training camp in Lahore which was later shifted to Islamabad.

The coach's tough training even forced quite a few probables to leave the camp.

However, the Chinese never compromised on the stamina and physical fitness.

He was proved right when his side edged past arch-rivals India 1-0 in the final of the Games in Islamabad.

Wang, hired by the PFF from the Pakistan Army before the Games, had also coached the 1989 Pakistan squad that clinched SAF Games gold in Islamabad.
