KARACHI, April 3: About 100 educational institutions, including 29 from the United Kingdom, would participate in an international education exhibition commencing on April 10 at the Karachi Expo Centre.

Speaking at a press briefing, the Director, British Council Karachi, Charlie Walker, said that the participating institutions from UK included traditional as well as new ones. This, he added, would surely provide an opportunity to Pakistani students to discuss with them their educational requirements.

He said that the British government was encouraging Pakistani students in seeking education in UK. He pointed out that during the previous year, it had issued about 7,200 visas to Pakistani students. Britain is a top class option for higher studies in a variety of disciplines at different universities which already had a very high image of Pakistani students, he added.

Highlighting salient features of the two-day educational exhibitions, its organizer, Rashid ul Haq, Director of World Learning Bureau, said that the exhibitions had been instituted in 1993 with the objective of bringing representatives of accredited universities and other educational institutions from within the country and abroad under one roof to provide local students achance to see and discuss the courses of reputed universities and save their money and precious time.

Now the Pakistan International Education Exhibition is a successful show in this part of the world, which enjoyed support of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the government of Sindh and the British Council as well.
