KARACHI, June 1: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has hosted a reception in honour of diplomats of Islamic countries and ulema on Friday evening on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

Consul-generals and senior diplomats from Kuwait, Turkey, Qatar, the UAE, Iran, Bahrain, Indonesia, Cameron, Tajikistan, district coordination office Shafiqur Rehman Paracha and prominent ulema belonging to various schools of thoughts and attended the reception.

Speaking on the occasion, the City Nazim said it was the need of the hour for the entire Muslim Ummah to be united against the common enemy.

Referring to situation in Kashmir and Palestine, he said that time had come that diplomats of Islamic countries must start a campaign for unity.

“We can do something for the Ummah. Though it is a lower level, still very effective,” he said.

He was of the view that the present circumstances were very alarming for the Islamic world and called for an effective strategy to face the situation. “Look what is happening in Kashmir and Palestine. If we cannot be united this time. The West will pick up Islamic countries one by one,” the Nazim said. —APP
