ABBOTTABAD, March 12: A special Anti-Terrorism Court Abbottabad has awarded 60 years' rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs300,000 to three men after convicting them of robbing the Advocate General of NWFP in Nathiagali on August 21, 2003.

Shah Jehan Khan, judge of the Special Anti-Terrorism Court, in a case registered under section 17/3 (20) Haraba, section 412, on Thursday announced judgment after day to day hearing and found three accused Ihstiaq, Arshad and Imran who had looted Advocate General of NWFP Barrister Jehanzeb Rahim while he was on a private trip to Nathiagali along with family guest.

Police recovered all the looted money from the culprits and the case was sent to speedy court for trial.

The court has also ordered a compensation of Rs30,000 to be paid to each of the three robbery victims.

FARE INCREASED: The Regional Transport Authority Abbottabad has increased inner-city fares of Suzuki vehicles on all the city routes from Rs3 to Rs4. The fare for a journey from the main city to Kakul has been increased to Rs6 from a previous Rs4.

People from all walks of life have strongly criticized the act of local transport authority as almost 90 per cent Suzuki vehicles are running on CNG and the government has not increased the rates of the gas.
