PESHAWAR, Feb 4: People from different walks of life called on NWFP Governor Lt-Gen Syed Ifitkhar Hussain Shah (retired) here at the Governor's House on Tuesday to greet him on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

Prominent among those who congratulated the governor included Chief Secretary Ijaz Ahmed Qureshi, Inspector-General of Police Riffat Pasha, parliamentarians, provincial ministers, MPAs, political figures, tribal elders, district Nazims, senior journalists, ulema, labour leaders, students, representatives of minorities and government officials.

A large number of disabled widows and orphans also visited the Governor's House.

The NWFP governor gave them a patient hearing and received applications from them.-APP
