DADU: Hesco recovery drive begins

DADU, Jan 10: The Hesco on Saturday launched an operation against 22,000 defaulters throughout the district. An amount of Rs362.54 million is outstanding against consumers in Dadu-I, II, Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Sehwan Sharif and Johi sub-divisions.

Six teams raided different villages and towns and disconnected power supply to 50 villages.

These villages included Changlani, Dadan Bhand, Umer Panhwar, Allahdad Khoso, Ahmed Jatoi, Rajab Jatoi, Hashim Panhwar, Sher M. Solangi, Lal M. Shahani, Moundar, Mirzo Jamali, Badar Naich, Bilawal Jamali and others.

The Hesco executive engineer told this correspondent that the Dadu division had started its operation on the special directives of Hesco chief.

HIGHWAY BLOCKED: Six highwaymen blocked the Indus highway in the jurisdiction of Thariri Mohabbat police station on Friday night and looted thousands of rupees cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from the passengers.

They also made two taxi drivers hostage and released them after travelling 10kms. They were identified as Mohammad Janwari, a resident of Kandpur village, and Noor Solangi, a resident of Nawab-jo-Pat village.

In another incident, highwaymen blocked the Gozo-Salari road in the jurisdiction of Khairpur Nathan Shah police on the same night and looted passengers.

They kidnapped four camel owners Mahar, Raza, Suhno, and Fakir Ghulam Ali when they were coming to K. N. Shah town from the Kachho belt. Later, they released the camel owners.

The K.N. Shah and Thariri Mohabbat police raided different places and arrested 20 suspects.

The police have not registered the cases of both incidents till the filing of this report.
