KARACHI, Jan 3: The Consul General of Iran, Aga Syed Moosa Hussain, has appreciated the efforts by various organizations and people of Pakistan for the collection of maximum possible relief and donations for the victims of the devastating earthquake in Iran.

He expressed his gratitude to the Ummah for the gestures and efforts.

The consul general was speaking at the Idara Noor-i-Haque here on Saturday while accepting the second consignment of relief goods, ready for dispatch to Iran in eight trucks. The relief goods, comprising blankets, woollen shawls and jackets, quilts, pillows, tents and medicines, had been collected by Jamaat-i-Islami, Al-Khidmat Welfare Society and Al-Khidmat Trust.

Speaking on the occasion, the JI city chief, Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, said that the efforts to collect relief goods from Pakistani philanthropists and general public for the Iranian brothers would continue. He said that Iran was part of the Ummah and it deserved all possible support from each and every Muslim state in this hour of trial and tribulation.

MNA Abdul Sattar Afghani, Sarfraz Ahmad, Syed Mehmood Ahmad and Fawad Sherwani were among those present on the occasion.
