KARACHI: Asif in city

Published April 24, 2005

KARACHI, April 23: PPP leader Senator Asif Ali Zardari flew into the city late Friday night on an unannounced visit and returned to Lahore by a morning flight to preside over meetings of various delegations from Punjab. The programme and purpose of Mr Zardari’s sudden visit had been kept so secret that even the top party leadership in the city appeared unaware of his arrival, though there were speculations that he might have dashed to Karachi to see his doctor.
