KARACHI: Appointments cancelled

KARACHI, April 21: The Sindh Local Government Department has cancelled the appointment of doctors made by the city nazim to the Karachi Medical and Dental College. In a letter to the City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, the Special Secretary, Local Government, Mohammed Ishaq Lashari, referred to the appointment orders of April 11, 2005 in connection with the Karachi Medical and Dental College, on the recommendations of the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC).

He clarified that the authority for appointment to BPS-18, 19 and 20 lay with the government at the level of the chief secretary and the chief minister. In view of that, he said the appointment orders baeing unauthorized and void were hereby suspended.

He directed the city nazim to forward the recommendations of the SPSC to the local government department for processing for approval from the competent authority.—APP
