KARACHI: ST activist shot at

KARACHI, April 17: An activist of the Sunni Tehrik was seriously wounded in an armed attack in Baldia Town on Sunday. Police said that Mohammad Tahir, 25, was busy in wall-chalking at a place in Memon Colony, Sector 9-C, Baldia, when the assailants on a motorcycle shot him at a close range. The victim was taken to the nearby Murshid Hospital where he was provided treatment. Later, he was referred to Civil Hospital for further treatment.

Police said the victim was shot in the head. In another incident, a stray bullet hit an 11-year-old girl when someone resorted to shooting in Orangi Town No. 10 on Sunday.

Police said that the girl, Zebun Nissa was asleep in the courtyard of her house when she got hit by the bullet in her abdomen.

She was rushed to the Qatar Hospital for first aid before being taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for further treatment.

Police have registered a case against unknown persons.
