KARACHI, April 12: Dr Abdul Fatah Albazm, noted religious scholar and Mufti-i-Azam of Syria, acknowledging the scholarly contribution of Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza in the field of religious learning, on Tuesday emphasised the need for writing research papers on the works of Imam Raza for the benefit of the Ummah. Dr Albazm was speaking at the “Imam Ahmad Raza International Silver Jubilee seminar at Nipa Auditorium held under the auspices of Idara Tahqeeqat-i-Imam Ahmad Raza. Others who paid homage to the great scholar included Mufti Syria Dr Adnan Dervesh, Imam of Badshahi Mosque Dr Mohammad Mukarrum Ahmad Dehlavi, Dr Farooq Ahmad, Dr Rifaat Jamal, Syed Wajahat Rasool Qaderi, Dr Majeedullah Quaderi and others.
Dr Adnan Dervesh said Arabic scholars are also greatly impressed from the books written by Imam Raza.
Dr Rifaat Jamal and Ms Shabnam recalled his Naatia poetry which captivated its listeners.
Dr Mohammad Malik highlighted the need for projecting the scientific books of Imam Ahmad Raza and pointed out that it was Imam Ahmad Raza who first mooted out the idea of “ultrasound” 100 years back in his book.
Syed Wajahat Rasool Qaderi said the books of Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza have not only been published in the subcontinent, but also in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Bangladesh, Britain, USA and other countries.
Dr Majeedullah Qaderi said in various universities of Pakistan, selected books of Imam Ahmad Raza have been made part of BA and MA syllabus while in Bangladesh, translation of Kunzul Iman and Fatwa Rizvia are included in the syllabus.
At the seminar, three gold medals were awarded to Dr Shahid Ali Noorani of Punjab University, Dr Tanzeemul Firdaus and Dr Ghulam Ghaus Quaderi from India for their PhDs on Imam Ahmad Raza and silver medal to Hafiz Zafar Iqbal Jalali of International Islamic University for his M Phil on Imam Ahmad Raza.
